Nowadays, physicians of hair transplant are able to make use of different techniques to extract and transplant large numbers of hair follicles. The main methods of Hair Transplant in India are Follicular Unit Transplantation and Follicular Unit Extraction. Let's see how different both are from each other.

Follicular Unit Extraction

For most of the hair transplant processes, you have to shave the entire donor area, which, means the entire sides and back of the scalp. In case you don't have short hair, then, doctors most probably will ask you to get it done.

Pain Management

Since no stitches are required in this method, and either is liner scar left for healing, FUE procedures have a faster healing time.

Scarring

The hair is removed individually from the scalp, there is no linear scar.

Follicular Unit transplant FUT

FUT involves removing a small strip of tissue from the back of the head, from which donor hair follicles will be extracted. The follicles of hair are harvested from the strip by a skilled team of doctors before individually transplanted to the desired area. In the case of major hair loss, FUT is the preferred method, as it allows the physician to fully utilize the scalp area to give results consistent with patient expectations.

Pain Management

The pain differs from individual to individual, also, besides other things. Some patient says they do not feel any discomfort, while others have severe pain. So one thing cannot be said in this case.

Scarring

The strip method results in a narrow linear scar in the back of the head. Since the scar is thin, it is concealed by the shortest haircut.
